Nation's Trust in God? or Trust in our president?
The reality of this season is that we will choose, by our decisions, whether our trust for our future is in God or in our president.
It cannot be that we choose a president who does not have a viable personal dependency upon God or we will be of all nations, most miserable.
Could it be that the only reason we have not incurred the wrath of God and total loss of His favor is because of the remnant in our nation -- the now minority -- who truly believe (trust in) God, THE LORD -- Jehovah of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is God of our fathers?
America's founding fathers came to this land, motivated to bringing their worship of God to a new place of freedom to serve Him with reverential awe and healthy fear. They risked their lives for this freedom from the oppressive rule of government.
Established upon the foundation of the Word of God, our nation has continued with the core of its very being a continuum of such faith and bold confidence in Almighty God.
We have had two basic realities which have given God cause for withholding judgment against our nation's open defiance of His laws:
1) We have had a response to the nations of the planet in bringing the Good News of God's lavish love for all mankind as a motivating reality for our national exportation of the message and the accompanying commodities coming from our bountiful provision from God's hand.
2) We have held to a responsibility to the land of Israel as the place of God's Covenant people and His promise that the nation which blesses Israel will be blessed. The nation who curses or harms Israel will be cursed. God's favor on a nation is in direct relation to the relationship with the land of Israel and its treatment of God's chosen people, the Jews.
If, indeed, we are clearly to abandon these two things at the core of our national being, we are sure to get what we have coming. History records the consequences of such self-determination as a people.
Through our choice of laws which we have voted in as the 'law of the land' we prove our intent to either honor or defy God.
Our national future is not up for sale by any action on the part of real estate brokers or marketing magistrates. Our national future is being bartered away each day by the choices the average citizens are making every day.
Our future is in our hands regardless of the political canditate in the highest office of the land. Yet, we are bound by our choice in the November elections and we will live with and die with our choice which will effect our children and grandchildren in years to come.
We better choose well the righteousness which God requires of a nation. Jesus Himself ordered His followers to discipline the nation/s to obey His commands. Love for Christ is all wrapped up in our ability to intentionally choose to obey Christ's commands. The essence of those commands are found in the Ten Commandments God gave the Sons of Israel and the company of decendents in the wilderness at Sinai.
God, who does not change in His nature and plan for the nations to be ruled by His Divine Will, watches to see our choices for one to serve Him in the highest office of our land. If there is a question about the political preparedness in the candidate -- look to see if there is regard for God above all else. Is there a healthy fear of God in the person's being. . . one that stands the scrutiny of the Word of God?
In God alone we trust. Our faith in all others will not sustain us. God alone has power to preserve the core of our nation -- those who are committed to give their lives in order that the nations of the earth come to know the true and living God -- the One and Only God, Jehovah God of Israel, who sent His Son into the world that the world, through Him, be saved from the wrath to come.
Our future as a nation is at stake here. Our future residency is determined by our personal response to God Himself.
In God alone I trust. May He grant us a president He would be pleased with . . . not what our sins deserve.
May we be spared the wrath to come in these last days before the coming of the Lord . . .
The choice is up to you!

CHANGE! CHANGE! HEARD EVERYWHERE , BUT NONE WE CAN COUNT ON!
The big "C" Word for the day! Change!
Change in the health care system!
Change in the tax refund system!
Change in the control of the White House!
Change in the systems of stability in our nation!
"Overthrow" is a word which might describe the effects of some change being promoted.
Listening to the candidates, you might think that CHANGE is the only issue of the day.
How about this, for a change: How about choosing the candidate who determines to bring restoration of foundational matters to our nation?
If we listen carefully, we might hear that somewhere in all this loud cry for CHANGE is one voice which promises to cling to the foundations upon which this nation was founded. One basic one comes to mind: In God we Trust!
The actual daily trust in God's direction for our nation is the most essential ingredient of all attributes required for presidential leadership.
Governing a nation "under God" is the work of a president of the USA. Other nations have come into existence without God's involvement. But not the United States of America. The life of our nation is dependent upon the foundation -- our faith in God and His favor and blessing upon us.
It is with this in mind that I open my ears to hear the 'behind the scenes' words which the candidates are using. What is dear to their hearts when it comes to their life and death choices? What do they really stand for in life? What principles have they staked their lives upon? What are they willing to give their lives for? Have they proven by their experience that they will not vascillate under any pressure to do something that defies God's ways for mankind?
If push came to shove, what really matters in life to these people we are planning to place in authority over us?
With presidents and kings on the other end of the phone line demanding this and that, what will be the method of choice for the president? Who will be the ultimate authority in the matter of decision-making? Is there a legal system that governs over all the nations which is already established? If so, will that Law be the guiding principle?
Running the office of the presidency each day will be in the hands of professionals who do this as careers. Dealing with party platforms and issues of the day -- that's commonly understood as being basically already decided -- each party has a roster, an agenda of promise to the nation via its past decisions. Making deals politically between the give and take of our system of government, that's common practice. But what about the big decisions of accountability to God for actions which government takes which effect the population being governed? Who is going to draw the line when principles are in conflict? Who will have the final say? To whom does the president look as the ultimate authority over all? Is there anyone? Or is that person the final determiner of his or her own decision making?
If the president has no moral authority over him or her, there is none over the people of the nation. We stand at this cross roads in this election.
Change? The change we need must come at those moments --after being elected-- when THE MAN OR THE WOMAN, OUR NEXT PRESIDENT, is able to make the ultimate and final decision concerning matters which will effect our national destiny. It will not be just about what we might want or what the president may think is good for us.
Our future as a nation will be determined in that moment by the response to what God has already determined is right for mankind.
If we dishonor God and His Laws and His Word by our selection of a secular leader, we will have already determined our fate as a nation among the nations.
We have no promise of freedom and liberty as a way of life unless we regard God above all else. This is what is at stake in this election.
Will we indeed be one nation under God? Or will we CHOOSE CHANGE AND GO OUR OWN WAY?
This is the issue in this election. Listen for the winds of change. The question I am asking as I listen to the library of words each day . . . How does God feel about it?

HIGHWAY 66
"Deadly Route 66" it used to be called. The three lane winding
roadway was our Missouri link from Springfield to St. Louis. The occasion which prompted the travel for Dan and me was the call of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. It was in the day of Stan Musial. We would pass his restaurant on the way to the game . . . always hoping some day we could afford to eat there.
The thing that was scarey was the center passing lane. It worked for the
cars going both ways. You simply looked to see if anyone else was coming your way in the passing lane. If not, you took your life in your hands by passing a slow moving car ahead of you. Your prayer and hope was that every driver coming your way from the opposite direction would be alert enough to see that you were in the lane!! The history of head on crashes put shivers down your spine while you were in the lane. I really did not like the coming and going from the games.
Dan's car was a Plymouth Coupe. Flying over the highway's hills
and curves gave an uncertain feeling. The car was light and easily blown
about by the cross winds. In those days we were easily distracted by
anything and everything, thus the feeling of uneasiness. Steady hands
would come later. One night returning home, I was so frightened I could not watch the traffic weave in and out of the center lane. The wind was blowing and I was afraid. I didn't want Dan to know how afraid I was. So, I put my head on the seat to 'sleep'. I didn't sleep, but at least I didn't have to watch the close calls. We had such fun at the games. Stadium time was the most wonderul enjoyment. At that time of our lives, I knew all the standings of both the American and National League teams as well as most of the player on many of the teams. The Cardinal players were first name 'friends' to us as we sat in the stands as loyal fans. We dreamed of being able to speak to the players personally. Stan "the Man" Musial was Dan's favorite player in the National League.
I was a childhood Yankee fan due to a decision I made one day listening to a ball game with my Dad. I think he must have been for the Yankees, too. The radio was playing in the garage as he worked on a project for the church Sunday School rooms. I remember he was building dividers for
the classes who were growing. The ball game gave background to the pounding of nails and sawing of the 2x4's. I was a loyal Yankee fan and so proud of my team!
Dating Dan was enough to bring me to consider loyalty to the Cardinals.
After all, if you want to land THE man, Dan, you really should learn what he enjoys the most. It was, it appeared, essential to become a Cardinal
fan. Pleasing Dan did not require it for he loved a good debate over
anything. . .but I did not like being the only lone Yankee fan in the Cardinal's section.
Such memories elicit smiles for those were what people call 'the good ole
days!' They can't compare to the good days we enjoy now, the delights of our relationship now. We have such a wonderful life together serving Christ and enjoying our family. The family of God we serve is the finest group of people in the world. We have many years of the journey together as Christ-followers. Our obedience level is growing all the time. . . details are becoming more explicit every day. What blessings we share together. At the moment I cannot imagine being a more fulfilled woman. My husband is absolutely amazing and wonderful in every way. Our choices of teams to cheer for are varied and changing. The Cardinals are too far away now to be fans attending games. We moved to the Northern Ohio area some years ago and we became Cleveland Indians baseball fans. Then the Cleveland Browns (at that time) were an amazing team. Dan still wears their brown shirt with a Browns insignia at times.
One day Dan decided to wear the Browns shirt on a flight to MO. He did not have an appointment when we got to our destination so it was a comfortable travel shirt. The security officer at the airport stopped Dan dead in his tracks. Dan looked at him a bit startled. Typically, no officer speaks to you except to perhaps respond to your 'hello' or 'thank you' as they do their examination of your luggage and carryons in line.
But this Security Officer stopped him saying, "Sir, I must shake your hand." Dan looked at him. The officer offered his hand. Dan reached out to shake his hand. Then the officer said, " I just have to shake your hand. You are the only other Browns fan I have ever met. "
We had a good laugh as we got back in line for the final 'shakedown'
in the security line.No trips to Cleveland's ball games compared to the Highway 66 -- Old Route 66 journey. There was a magic about those early days as a young
couple. Something about the whole era of baseball seemed different then.It was before the baseball strike.
It was before the million dollar salaries and beyond.
It was when the game was still pristine with expectation that any kid could become a major league player if only you could get into a good farm
team.It was when the Monday night games were not accessable and the sports channel gave you a game anytime anywhere.
It was before the era of steroids and the shattered and somewhat questionable baseball 'records' were marred by players willing to do anything to top the numbers -- even bring down the integrity of sports heroes by artificial stimulants to build strength.
It was when a home run was a viable offering of a regular guy who outhit the pitcher in an honest game and fans loved it and could come for a reasonable price. A family could enjoy the game and get hot dogs for 25 cents. Sad to say, the beer guzzlers managed to mar the fun even then. How amazing it was to learn that overindulgence mars any public
event where booze is sold. It is the nature of man to want to go above
and beyond for all to see. . . and sitting next to the guzzlers is no
fun.
Which brings me to the reason for this post. There is no 'high road' for driving between Springfield and St. Louis -- but there is a better freeway
with no center turning lane to scare you to death and produce head on accidents now. The road splits for many miles and you can't even see the other East or West bound lane from your side of the four lane hiway. It is a wondeful road.
We used to fly into St. Louis on our way to Springfield for events. That was when we lived in Ohio. Now that we are in Florida, our route is thru Dallas-Ft. Worth or Atlanta. Route 66 is not on our GPA at the moment.
The High Way of our lives is that of lifting people out of the pit to walk
on a road which leads to heaven by following Jesus Christ. It is a way of
life which is given to every person who will yield to the Lordship of Jesus
Christ. Choosing the High Way of Life in Jesus Christ brings fulfillment and completeness. I suggest you inquire of Jesus Christ concerning His plan for your life. His design and purpose for you includes the greatest
possible journey you could possible imagine. The venture is filled with
promise for blessings now and forevermore. While we are bringing Kingdom messages to people each day we see God's hand of intervention in their lives.
Being a Christ-follower will take you to the High Roads of Life -- into the
nations of the world. There is a recruiting taking place for all who will
surrender to yield fully to Christ and His Cross.
On the other side of your obedience to His High Way of Life is a multitude
of people already waiting to hear about Jesus Christ and His offer of eternal Life -- now and forever.
Come join us, won't you!
How could your life be different if you were to give it over to Jesus Christ? Have you thought about it?

Winds of Change
The wind is blowing! Change seems to be the very reason we do politics. Now that the Florida Primary has determined who will get the delegates in the Republican Party, we are met with the most recent Democratic Debate from California. Who will win? Who will be our next President?
The cry for change rings out waiting for the final lap to be run with the baton being passed to the final winner. Our nation awaits the race to the polls and hopefully to the ballot box when the time comes to cast our ballots in November.
The change which is most urgent is that of our relationship with God. As if by some sweeping hand of change, the foundations of our nation are being pounded at with fierce determination to undermine what has made us a surviving nation leading the way in matters which are essential to international peace. We have become content to allow slippage to rob us of our moral values. . . the deceptiveness of the gradual, it is called.
We now face the grave reality that we no longer can count on God's favor to us as a nation for we have and are making bold moves to bring Israel to her knees and allow her City of Gold to be divided. We are taking aim at God's firm Word that the nation that dishonors Israel will not have God's favor. We could look at many things which we have seen recently which perhaps contribute to the possibility of God's mercy being lifted from us.
Among things which could possibily account for some of our calamities nationally are our handling of people and nations in such a way so as to defy God's Word and His edicts which dare not be ignored.
No individual candidate can bring help to our nation without the favor of God behind that presidency. We must clearly study the issues and look at the first matter of all . . .that of our relationship with almighty God.
The prayer movements of the planet are calling the nations to repentance before God. They are asking the nations to cry out to God for mercy, insisting that repentance for national sins must begin.
Dare we believe that prayer makes that difference? If so, would not God have long ago heard the cries of the intercessors and brought transformation to the nations?
Perhaps it is more than praying God is after. How about holiness before Him? That means acting in righteous ways as people who know His ways and know Him and His Word.
Perhaps it is important that the people who do know God are willing to speak to the rest of the world about His plans and purposes for mankind to worship and bow before Him, acknowledging His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Giver of Life and the Sustainer of all Life -- THE LIFE!
Perhaps it is essential to point out that God's favor comes because of the response to Jesus Christ and His Life poured out for the nations of the world. . .for the healing of the nations. The Prince of Peace has come to bring God-Life to all people everywhere. The gift of God is eternal Life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Therefore, the political arena could not possibly become unified in a way sufficiently organized to bring godliness to bear on the nations of the world unless Jesus Christ is honored in the process. After all, He is the Author and Finisher of Life itself. His very Presence as Creator of the Universe is sufficient to bring kings and presidents to bow before Him in homage in worship. To do so now will mean an eternal difference for the nations of the world.
For centuries, people have prayed for the nations. Jesus Himself prayed for the all people everywhere -- that all would hear and believe the message which Jesus came to give the world. His life, death and resurrection are the story line for all to hear and know. Faith in God comes by hearing the message of God, the message from God. The Word of God, Jesus Christ, became flesh and dwelt among mankind in order to show what God-life looked like in human form.
So, when we want change -- the change for the better comes through faith in that which comes from God Himself. He is the author of all that is and will sustain that which comes from Himself.
Could it be. . .Can it be that God would be merciful one more time and give us a God-fearing president of our USA who would honor God in all things and be willing to bring to the highest office of our land the spiritual and moral integrity which is created only by God.
Out of the nothingness of man's ability to bring spiritual life to human situations comes God's grand entrance into the affairs of mankind. He stamps His image on the human heart and defies the fallen nature of man to overpower His saving Life within the heart and spirit of man.
It is our choice. We are best suited for honor and integrity when we are unashamed of being a Christ-follower -- yet being willing to allow Truth to do its own work. We do not have to prove that Christ is the Son of God. Identity is established by Truth. It is our place to see that the needed change for our nation is based on the reality that is -- not the perceptions of image-making political machines. Media spin creates a false reality. Media brings virtual reality to become more familiar than the reality of God.
It is not any particular sin that must first be mortified in the heart of man, but it is the root of sin which is personal autonomy from God.
Sincerity is not enough in serving as President. We do not want a Christian in any office of government who is not qualified for leading our nation. Conversion to Christ is insufficient to lead a nation under God. There must be experienced and tested principles which are sufficient to the global leadership required. Our place as a nation is held for us by God -- that of serving the people of the world with our resources -- both spiritual and material. We are bound to the command of God to take the Light to the nations. We are committed by our heritage to be to the world a watchman on the walls of the Kingdom of God. . . keeping look out for the people who come under the oppression of dark forces of evil and find themselves mastered by satanic leadership who use demonic means of destruction to bring about terrorized nationals who have no hope in life.
We are a nation to serve under God. We are a people with resources to share with the nations. We are a servant nation to lead the nations in the principles of righteousness -- those foundational laws of God upon which our nations was built. In God alone we trust. We dare not trust in our own power and might. In one moment God may withdraw all His favor, grace and mercy. He may decide the time has come for righteousness to prevail and for justice to prevail. If it were today, we would be found wanting. . . and our lights would go out.
That is, except for the remnant of people! God always has a remnant. That is the reason for God's hand of judgment being stayed at this moment. It is those righteous people who call out to God day and night for mercy and grace to abound where sin abounds. It is those who are faithful worshipers in living as Christ commanded, His Church at work to obey every directive of Christ's Divine Commission. It is the remnant of the people in our nation who were born as citizens, yet have become obedient to the Divine Commission and have left home and family to take the message of Christ's salvation and redemption to the nations of the world. . . showing their loving obedience to Christ -- love poured out on Calvary and driving the 'going' to every person on the planet.
It is God's lavish love poured out to the entire world. . . bringing to mankind a spiritually elevated standard of living found only among those who are Christ-followers. Therein is an integrity of respect for others, a willingness to sacrifice for the completion of the Divine Commission. There is a viable understanding of God's plan to culminate His Divine plan for the nations in the land of Israel and establish His Kingdom on earth at an appointed time and place. It is in all these things and more that we find our trust in God will not waver. We see that when we do our part, God is faithful to His Word and He honors what He has spoken.
Two major reasons for God sparing America: 1) Our willingness to send the Message of God's love for all manind and salvation in Jesus Christ -- taking it to the whole world, and 2) our willingness to support and stand with the nation of Israel in defense of the land God chose to establish the home of His chosen people, the Children of Israel, the Jews. We are bound to those covenant relationships with God through our faith in Him and His Word. The remnant of our nation who will not waver are responsible for God's hand of mercy being held out to hold back the vile destruction which comes against our land and our leaders-- straight from the pit of hell. Only as we honor Christ will we be spared God's wrath to come against all who are anti-Christ.
This bold statement of faith in God and His Word will clearly be challenged on every hand. The day will come when every knee will bow before Christ and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over all. Until that time, when God will change everything and will put in place His Kingdom to rule on earth as it is in heaven, we are bound to Christ by our Blood-covenant -- that of Christ's blood!
